The latest version of whatsapp have some changes in the app like the app chats archive system works.the new archive as the app calls it but new archive system works same as old archive system.there is one major exception : now you can archive chat ignore or remove permanently from your inbox.
In old versions archived whatsapp chat returned in your archive chats list if you was received a new. While you could permanently mute push notifications of your chat you prefer to ignore and you’d still message bagde in your inbox. Remember now you can always block unknown phone numbers and contacts in whatsapp if someone is harassing or annoying you with unwanted messages.
The option to keep whatsapp archive chat will be available in all android and IOS platform in coming weeks but the android users can install WhatsApp beta version 2.21.11.2 or higher.

Once the option to permanently archive chat is available to you so turn it on from setting follow this steps.
- Open whatsapp app and click on the three dot on the upper right side of mobile phones screen.
- Go to settings > chats.
- Enable “Keep chats archived” under the “Archived chats” header.
- To archive a conversation, long-press a chat thread in your inbox, then select the “Archive” icon from the top menu.
- The “Archive” tab will move to the top of the inbox screen next to the “Chats” tab, making those ignored messages easier to access.
